Four Morning Routines to Make Your New Year More Productive

Your waking hours can set the tone for the rest of the day. Whether you work from the office or from home, starting off the morning right can have a huge impact on how productive you are throughout the day. Looking for proven ways to increase your productivity in the mornings? Here are four tips that can help.

Skip the Social Media Scrolling
Your phone is the biggest source of distraction on your bed or desk. Learn to avoid reaching for your phone the moment you wake up. Work emails can wait until you’ve gotten up out of bed. The most successful people don’t start their days scrolling through Facebook or Instagram, and neither should you.

Finish One Easy Task
Completing one small task in the morning can give you a feeling of satisfaction that can fuel your drive to get on with the next task. Choose a simple task that’s easy to tackle, such as folding the laundry or vacuuming. A morning chore will get your circulation going while also clearing up more time during the day for other important tasks.

Eat a Protein-Packed Breakfast
If you want to feel energized enough to tackle the day’s responsibilities, prioritize the most important meal of the day. Stick to quality fuel such as home-cooked eggs over toast, a side of veggies or fruit, or a bowl of multigrain cereal. Avoid quick, sugary options, which will only cause you to crash halfway through your day. If your mornings are tight, consider preparing breakfast bowls the night before.

Focus On Your To-Do List
Multitasking is widely overrated, which is why more people are reverting to tackling one task at a time. This method will help get a lot more done while producing a higher-quality output. Focus your complete attention on one important item on your business to-do list and before you know it, you’ll be cruising through it.
